What does “fanum tax” mean?
Fanum tax is taking a bite of someone else’s food, especially a friend’s, as if it were a tax you were owed.
Where it comes from
Named for Fanum, a streamer in the AMP group, who made a running joke in 2022 and 2023 of “taxing” his friends’ food on stream. The phrase spread through TikTok in 2023 and became part of the “brain rot” vocabulary.
