What does “mogging” mean?
Mogging is looking so much better than someone, usually standing next to them, that you make them look worse by comparison. To get mogged is to lose that comparison.
Where it comes from
From “AMOG,” pickup-artist jargon of the 2000s for the “alpha male of the group,” which online “looksmaxxing” communities turned into a verb for outdoing someone in looks. It crossed into TikTok in 2024, often as a joke about height or jawlines.
Mogging in a sentence
- He wore a suit to the barbecue and mogged everyone.
- Standing next to my brother, I get mogged in every photo.
Can you say it at work?
No. It comes from communities with a bleak view of people, and it rates bodies. Keep it out of the office.
