About Gloss.
Gloss is a dictionary for iPhone that explains any word the way you read: Plain, ADHD, Gen Z, Metaphor, Formal, or Like I’m 5. It sends one word a day, chosen for your level, and brings it back with three questions and four short games until it stays.
Why we made it
Most dictionaries are written for people who already understand definitions. But most of us meet a new word halfway through a sentence we are trying to read, and a definition in another code is not much help there. Gloss starts with a sentence you can picture, then gives you the origin, the close synonyms and the classic definition when you want them.
Who makes it
Gloss is made by PixelPaw, a small studio in Iași, Romania, in the European Union. The company is PixelPaw SRL, trade register J22/83/2023, VAT RO47434294. You can write to us at support@gloss.day.
What we won’t do
No ads, and no data sold: Gloss is paid for by the people who use it. What you type is used to write your explanation, and a word or a short paste is kept for the next person who asks, without your name; it never trains a model.
